The inaugural Executive Council meeting of the South Asian Karate Federation was held on the 3rd October 2021 via ZOOM.
The following six countries were attended (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka)
In which, Mr. R.J. Alexander (Chief Instructor of the Japan Karatedo Itosukai Sri Lanka) was appointed as the new Chairman of the South Asian Referee Commission with the approval of the South Asian Karate Federation EC Members in the above-mentioned meeting.
Mr. R.J. Alexander is the current Chairman of the National Referee Commission of the Sri Lanka Karatedo Federation and he holds the highest referee qualification in Sri Lanka which is the Kumite "A" Grade Referee and Kata "A" Grade Judge certified by the Asian Karate Federation and Sri Lanka’s first and one and only Kumite "A" Grade Referee certified by the World Karate Federation.
Mr. Alexander has excelled in the sport of karate himself as a National and International Karate Champion, as National Team Captain and has coached and produced many National and International players; he is renowned in the Karate Federation as the producer of the one and only Asian Games Karate medallist for Sri Lanka.
