On January 7th, 2018, the 57th annual beach training was held at Enoshima beach, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan. It was hosted by Japan Karatedo Itosu-kai, Kanto Region Conference (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Tochigi, Gunma, and Yamanashi), and about 250 people gathered in this special practice.
Sky was clear and we were able to see Mt. Fuji very well.
After light warming up, everybody ran to Enoshima shrine and made the first shrine visit in the year. After coming back to a beach, everybody practiced Kihon, Kata and Kumite, and finally got into cold water with moving basic.
We believe the cold water and weather purify and strengthen our spirit. So, winter training is tradition for many Japanese martial artists.

2018年1月7日、糸洲会関東地区合同による第57回、江の島寒稽古が開催されました。連休という事もあり、旅行に行っている方々も多い中、今年は約250名の参加がありました。
天候にも恵まれ富士山がよく見える中、まずは全員で江島神社までランニング、そして初詣。海岸に戻ってからは、基本稽古や約束組手を行い、最後には、上半身裸になって、移動稽古をしながら海に入りました。
寒い中、皆さんご苦労様でした。
